On April 19th, 2024, Go-Woman! Alliance Europe, in partnership with VI One Consultancy, organised a workshop aiming to delve into the essence of volunteering. Facilitated by nine resilient women from Bulgaria, the session was interactive, addressing various barriers to volunteering. Participants from diverse backgrounds including students, employees, self-employed, and unemployed individuals actively engaged in activities like mind mapping and brainstorming to identify and discuss these barriers.
To infuse a playful element, Lego pieces were ingeniously used to symbolise emerging questions from the dialogue. The workshop created an enjoyable and collaborative environment, fostering small group collaborations where participants freely shared concerns and uplifting anecdotes about their volunteering experiences. Notably, women highlighted the role of food in their integration into new communities, emphasising its significance in fostering community cohesion through shared culinary experiences.
